Grade 7/8
Regina could live in history among iconic board game properties
such as Boardwalk, Marvin Gardens, and St. James Place.
MONOPOLY is launching a new Canadian Edition and is inviting
Canadians to vote for their favourite cities.
Regina is among the 65 cities in the running for 20 spots on the
Monopoly Canada Edition board. The vote will determine the top
20 cities and the top 2 wildcard cities that will be the property
spaces on the MONOPOLY Canada game board.
Voting began January 11th at midnight and will continue until
February 7th, 2010. The city that receives the highest number of
votes will be placed on the highest rent property, typically
occupied by Boardwalk.
The Mayor encourages every Reginan to vote every day during
the contest period. For more information on voting and to help
put Regina on the Board, please visit

It’s hard to believe it is 2010! It seemed so futuristic when I was in grade 7 or 8. And when I graduated in 1997 (yes, grade 7/8, that makes me old!), I don’t even think I thought about what 2010 would look like. Anyway, I hope the new year brings promises of new experiences, new goals to reach and joys to discover. Have you made some resolutions? Maybe it will be part of a new assignment? hmmmm….
If you haven’t been on the blog lately, you will notice some new stuff. First, I have posted my favourite “teen” books. Each one of you will have to do the same thing so you might want to start thinking about that as well. Secondly, I added a few widgets such as a clock so we always know what time it is where our buddies live and a world globe so we can check who is looking at our blog. One of my resolutions is to keep the site updated and exciting so check back often!
I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow and hearing the exciting holiday stories!

Have you seen the video of your dance? You guys rock!
Parents we have been working on the Michael Jackson Thriller dance for awhile now and have an opportunity to participate in the breaking of a World Record! Please read the following information, if you choose to have your child participate (not mandatory) in this fun activity. I am not able to be there until just before the performance so please arrange for your own supervision. A registration form will be sent home with your child. It would be a good idea to have it filled out before you arrive.
Please email me if you have any questions.
